The following can be attributed to Todd Staples, president of the Texas Oil & Gas Association.
“Today’s EPA report, Assessment of the Potential Impacts of Hydraulic Fracturing for Oil and Gas on Drinking Water Resources, confirms that hydraulic fracturing conducted in compliance with science-based, approved methods protects our water sources. This study is the latest in a long list of others that show that fracking poses little risk of impacting our drinking water.
Today’s EPA study is yet another example of science discrediting the often-repeated yet baseless environmental claims of anti-oil and gas groups.
All Americans can take pride in knowing that technology is being used appropriately to produce safe, reliable, and plentiful energy all while leading our nation on a path to energy independence.”
